Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Camden
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps taken by Man with Van Camden to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. As a provider of removals and transport services, we recognise our responsibility to uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct and to respect the human rights of all individuals who work for or with us.
Modern slavery encompasses slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking. Man with Van Camden has a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery and is committed to acting ethically, transparently, and with integrity in all our business dealings.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Man with Van Camden operates within the transport and moving services sector, providing relocation, collection, and delivery services to domestic and commercial customers. Our supply chains include vehicle hire and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packaging suppliers, and occasional use of subcontracted labour or partner companies for specialist or overflow work.
We acknowledge that elements of our sector, particularly those involving temporary or subcontracted labour and cross-border logistics, may be vulnerable to modern slavery risks. We therefore apply robust controls and due diligence procedures to our own activities and to the suppliers and partners with whom we work.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
Man with Van Camden maintains a clear zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. This policy applies to all employees, agency workers, subcontractors, suppliers, and any other business partners. We will not knowingly work with any organisation that condones, supports, or is involved in modern slavery in any form.
Any breach of this policy by staff may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or contract. Where suppliers or partners are found to be involved in modern slavery practices, we will take immediate steps which may include suspension of work, termination of contracts, and reporting to the relevant authorities.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We carry out proportionate due diligence on existing and potential suppliers and subcontractors to assess the risk of modern slavery within their operations. This includes requesting information on their employment practices, right-to-work checks, use of recruitment agencies, and policies relating to modern slavery and human rights.
Where we identify higher-risk relationships, we implement additional controls, which may include more detailed questionnaires, obtaining written commitments to comply with modern slavery legislation, and, where appropriate, requesting evidence of their own modern slavery procedures.
Man with Van Camden also reserves the right to conduct audits of key suppliers and subcontractors. These audits may be desk-based or on-site, and will review workforce conditions, recruitment practices, documentation, and grievance mechanisms. Failure to cooperate with audits, or unsatisfactory findings that are not promptly and effectively remedied, may result in the termination of the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Protection
We encourage all employees, agency workers, subcontractors, and any third parties connected with our business to report any concerns or suspicions relating to modern slavery. Concerns can include indicators of forced labour, exploitation, or unsafe or inhumane working conditions within Man with Van Camden or within our supply chains.
Reports can be made to line managers, senior management, or through any established internal reporting routes. Individuals who raise concerns in good faith will be supported and protected. We do not tolerate retaliation or victimisation against any person who reports a genuine concern, even if it is later found to be unfounded.
All reports will be treated seriously and investigated promptly, with appropriate action taken where necessary. Where there is evidence of criminal activity, we will cooperate fully with law enforcement and other competent authorities.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery risks within our organisation. Managers and staff involved in recruitment, procurement, and supplier management receive guidance on identifying warning signs of exploitation and on the correct procedures for escalating concerns.
New starters are made aware of our zero-tolerance position and their responsibility to uphold our standards. We periodically review and refresh training materials to reflect legal developments and evolving best practice.
Monitoring, Review, and Continuous Improvement
Man with Van Camden is committed to continuous improvement in our approach to preventing modern slavery. We monitor the effectiveness of our controls through review of reported incidents, supplier performance, and feedback from staff and stakeholders.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least annually by senior management to ensure it remains accurate, effective, and aligned with current legislation and guidance. The review will consider any changes in our business operations, supply chains, risk profile, and industry standards.
Following each review, we will update our processes and, where necessary, strengthen our policies, due diligence, and training to enhance our ability to prevent and detect modern slavery.
This statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Camden, who accept overall responsibility for its implementation and for ensuring that adequate resources are allocated to support our commitment to eradicating modern slavery and human trafficking from our business and supply chains.
